How Biddo works
The rules, in plain language. No jargon, nothing you haven't already seen on the boards themselves.
- What is Biddo?
- Biddo is a live competitive ranking platform. Public boards list numbered positions, and users compete for them by bidding Biddo Credits. The current ranking is visible to everyone, all the time.
- How does a board work?
- A board is a public, live-ranked list of positions, for example #1 through #20. Anyone can view the current ranking without an account. Each position can be claimed by placing a bid, and both the bid amount and the position holder's identity are public.
- How do positions work?
- A person can hold at most one position per board at a time. If you already hold a position on a board and place a new bid elsewhere on that same board, your previous position on that board is released automatically. Placing a bid spends Credits immediately and cannot be undone.
- What are Credits?
- Credits are Biddo's in-app unit for placing bids. They have no cash value, cannot be redeemed for money, and cannot be transferred outside the app. Credits are purchased in packages and spent the moment a bid is placed.
- What happens when someone outbids you?
- You lose the position immediately, and the Credits you spent on it are not refunded. That's the core mechanic, not a bug: every position is only as safe as the next highest bid.
- Can users hold multiple positions?
- Yes, across different boards. A user can hold one position on each board at the same time, but never more than one position on the same board.
- What does #1 mean?
- #1 means this position currently has the highest bid on that board. It reflects who was willing to pay the most, not an independent or objective judgment of quality, merit, or ranking by Biddo itself. Board and position content is submitted by users and isn't editorially reviewed before it goes public.
